The reception of applications for the Economic Citizenship Program is realized at a reduced pace, but it is to be expected that after the relaxation of the measures adopted to protect against the coronavirus, its implementation will continue on a larger scale, announced the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Srđan Darmanović.
He said that the epidemic caused by the coronavirus partly affected that Program, as well as all other segments of the economy.
"However, as the government was informed by licensed mediation agents, the interest in the Program is still high," Darmanović told the Mina-business agency.
He stated that the reception of applications is realized at a reduced pace, because the main limitation is the closed borders, but the Program has not been interrupted.
"Based on the information so far, it is to be expected that, after the relaxation of the measures adopted in order to protect against the coronavirus, the implementation of the Program will continue on a larger scale," said Darmanović.
The reception of the first applications for the Montenegrin Economic Citizenship Program began at the end of last year and at the beginning of this year.
The program defines that per request, the minimum investment obligation is 100 thousand euros for the development of less developed municipalities, that is, at least 250 thousand and 450 thousand euros for investing in one of the projects from the development list, depending on the region in which the investment is made.
The program is limited to two thousand requests.
