The company "Safiro beach resort" from Podgorica, which manages an attractive plot of 8.500 square meters in front of the "Adriatic Fair" hall, operated last year with a loss of 249 thousand euros. It is about the land on which the Turkish company "Mia investments" plans to build a hotel with apartments for the "Mia Budva" market - two towers of 15 and 16 floors each.
The public became aware of "Safiro Beach" last year, when fugitive businessman Duško Knežević claimed that his land near the Adriatic Fair was stolen from him, and that the DPS leader and head of state Milo Đukanović and the former Minister of Sustainable Development were personally behind the company "Safiro Beach Resort". Branimir Gvozdenović, not British businessmen, as stated in the papers. Such claims by Knažević were immediately denied, and it was announced that the Cypriot company "Expom Hotels Partners Limited" is the XNUMX% owner of the land in Budva at the Adriatic Fair, which is used by the company "Safiro Beach Resort". The Cypriot company "Expom Hotels Partners Limited", as they said, is owned by the British "Cocoon Group" based in London, whose owners are Timothy Philip Levy and his wife Roxana Nice.
"Safiro Beach" has accumulated a loss of 2,1 million euros in the financial statement submitted to the Tax Administration for all the previous nine years, since it changed ownership and passed from Duško Knežević to Cypriots.
The value of the land in front of the Adriatic Fair is estimated at 6,6 million euros, while the company has long-term credit obligations in the amount of 3,3 million euros.
The Municipality of Budva also has problems with the collection of its claims from "Safiro beach resort". At the end of January, the local administration blocked the land complex of 8.500 square meters because "Safiro beach resort" did not settle the tax debt of 89 thousand euros. The mortgage on the attractive plot was registered on January 31 in the cadastral records of the Real Estate Administration.
"Mortgage on the basis of the decision on securing the tax claim of the Administration of Local Public Revenues of the Municipality of Budva in the total amount of EUR 89.106 in favor of the Municipality of Budva", it says in the real estate list.
The land complex is mortgaged by Piraeus Bank due to millions of loans, and also the natives are proving in court that their land was taken away without compensation.
In August of the year before last, the Turkish company concluded a joint construction contract with "Safiro beach" on the plot, which is only 20 meters from Slovenska plaža.
The city's chief architect on two occasions refused to approve the conceptual solution, considering that the appearance of "Mia Budva" does not reflect the spirit of the Mediterranean. This position of hers was confirmed by the relevant ministry, however, after the department is coordinated by Prime Minister Duško Marković, it gave the green light to the appearance of the future hotel.
"Mia investments" intends to build a five-star hotel.
