The total import of food last year was worth 474 million euros and is even 60 million euros higher than the total export of all goods from Montenegro.
According to the data that "Vijesti" received from the Monstat Administration for Statistics, last year fresh paddy was imported for 5,7 million euros, potatoes for 3,5 million, onions for 2,5 million, carrots for 1,3 million, cucumbers for million euros, cabbage for 945 thousand, salad for 352 thousand and other fresh vegetables for another 3,7 million euros.
Frozen vegetables were imported for 2,3 million, dry for 1,8 million, dried for 523 thousand, and canned for 194 thousand.
Vegetables are imported from more than 40 countries around the world, mostly from Serbia and Albania.
From Serbia, padajza was imported for two million euros, carrots for 1,1 million, onions for one million, potatoes for 748 thousand, cucumbers for 279 thousand, cabbage for 86 thousand euros...
Frozen vegetables from that neighboring country arrived worth 1,65 million euros.
Tomatoes for 2,2 million euros, cabbage for 372 thousand, cucumbers for 641 thousand, potatoes for 221 thousand, onions for 395 thousand euros,... and other types of fresh vegetables for 1,5 million were imported from Albania.

Carrots even came from the Republic of South Africa for 5,5 thousand euros. Dried legumes were imported from Kyrgyzstan for 727 thousand euros.
Live cattle imported for 22 million
Live domestic animals intended for breeding and slaughterhouses were imported for 27 million euros. Live cattle were imported for 22 million euros, pigs for 1,1 million, sheep and goats for 2,72 million, and live poultry (chickens, chickens, turkeys...) for 1,29 million euros.

A total of 760 million worth of fresh and frozen lamb and goat meat was imported, as well as XNUMX million worth of dried meat.

The total import of fresh eggs was 2,17 million euros, of which 1,2 million euros from Serbia, 847 thousand euros from BiH, and 127 thousand euros from Germany.
Last year, Montenegro imported honey for 872 thousand euros, of which 766 thousand from Serbia and 105 thousand from Macedonia.

Last year's cheese import was worth 16,5 million euros, and the most was imported from Germany for seven million euros. Then followed Serbia for four million, Croatia with 1,2 million, Italy with 1,1 million, BiH with 1,05 million, Slovenia with one million euros... Swiss cheeses were imported for 1.507 euros, and French cheeses for 8.683 euros.
