Prime Minister Duško Marković, together with his associates, paid a working visit to Žabljak, where he discussed the development and valorization of the region's potential with representatives of the local self-government.
"All this with the aim of improving the overall offer, contributing to the quality of life and encouraging the development of the economy as a whole. It was agreed that 3,5 million euros will be invested in Žabljak from the state budget, and about one million from the capital budget of the municipality. The priority is the development of the ski resort Sava kuk, the development of road and overall infrastructure. We want to improve the offer of the National Park "Durmitor" through quality improvement and the creation of new jobs", said Marković, expressing his belief that a sustainable agreement has been made and that in the next three years, Žabljak will become one of the most prestigious destinations in the region.
Deputy Prime Minister Milutin Simović expressed his satisfaction with the results achieved during the last year.
"We are ready to embark on a long-term water supply project not only for Žabljak but also for rural areas. To this end, efforts were made by the Government and local self-government with the generous support of the Republic of Slovenia. The meeting discussed ways to encourage entrepreneurship in tourism and agriculture. Defined are projects and funds for which there are generous funds," Simović said.
The Minister of Tourism and Sustainable Development, Pavle Radulović, referred to the following tasks within the competence of that ministry.
"At the end of last year, a tender was announced for the construction of a six-seater funicular on Savina Kuk, four kilometers long and the design of about five kilometers of ski slopes, with a total value of nine million euros. A contract was signed for the construction of 1,5 kilometers of slopes. 1,5 kilometers of roads will be built to the ski resort and parking for skiers' vehicles as well as a five-kilometer access road. In addition, we discussed how to improve communal and other hygiene. It is definite that a restaurant will be opened on the shore of the Black Lake at the beginning of spring," says Radulović.
He emphasized that the topic was also large hotels in Žabljak.
"Durmitor", "Jezera" and "Planinka" are in question, for which decisions must be made and definitely put an end to the story about them. "Durmitor" should start construction quickly. Spatial planning documentation will be completed soon. is elaborated on the demolition of the existing one. As for "Jezera", intensive discussions are being held with the current owner and a potential investor, and some solution will be reached. A verdict has been passed for "Planinka", and after its finality, that hotel will return to the bankruptcy estate, and then will start looking for a new investor," Radulović said.
The President of the Municipality, Veselin Vukićević, says that he is looking forward to the start of the construction season with optimism, because these are sustainable projects for which funds have been secured.
