The payment of old-age benefits in agriculture, which have been increased by 13,16 percent, begins today, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development announced.
The Ministry said that the benefits were increased from 64,41 euros to 72,89 euros, in accordance with the new amendments to the Law on Pension and Disability Insurance (PIO), which increased the amount of the minimum pension.
According to the Law on Agriculture and Rural Development, the amount of the old-age allowance is set at 50 percent of the lowest pension.
The Ministry explained that the increase is applied retroactively from January 1, so users were paid the difference for the previous seven months in addition to the August fee.
They added that 3,31 thousand old age benefit beneficiaries will receive an August check in the amount of 132,25 euros.
The Ministry reminded that as part of the Special Government Support Program for Agriculture, beneficiaries of old-age benefits were paid an extraordinary benefit in addition to the April one.
