Finance Minister Darko Radunović and Economy Minister Dragica Sekulić, together with their associates, met today with the candidates for ministers in the new government, Milojko Spajić, Jakov Milatović and Mladen Bojanić, the Ministry of Finance announced.
"The working meeting took place in a constructive conversation, with mutual cooperation and willingness to cooperate, and intensive communication will continue next week," the announcement states.
The candidate for the Minister of Finance and Social Welfare, Milojko Spajić, said after the meeting that the next one should be held on Monday or Tuesday.
When asked whether the budget will be prepared by the end of the year, Spajić replied that they hope so and are working towards that goal.
"The meeting was constructive this time as well. We continue with technical work," Spajić told reporters.
Commenting on the draft prepared by the outgoing government, he said that it is very difficult to give any evaluations.
"We would not make a lump sum assessment, but based on facts. We will wait for such evaluations," Spajić added.
He also said that he would talk about the challenges he sees in the budget when he takes office.
The Ministry of Finance announced earlier that the working meeting took place in a constructive discussion, with mutual cooperation and willingness to cooperate.
Today's meeting is a continuation of the one held on Monday, when Spajić, Milatović and Bojanić met with Radunović to discuss, among other things, the Draft Budget for the next year and the current economic situation and state of public finances.
