Vladimir Čađenović, a member of the presidency of the Democrats, is the most serious candidate for the new executive director of the Montenegrin Electric Distribution System (CEDIS), and Milan Lekić, a member of the DF, for the same position in the coal mine, while Rajko Radošević, who is employed at CEDIS, is a candidate for the president of the board of directors and companies.
This information was confirmed by "Vijesti" from several sources in the ruling coalition.
According to unofficial information, the post of president of the board of directors of CEDIS is intended for the Democratic Front (DF).
Čađenović, who is a lawyer, is a member of the presidency of the Democrats, the president of the Podgorica committee of that party and the president of the club of councilors in the city parliament.
He was a deputy in the previous parliamentary convocation. He also works as a lawyer.
Lekić is the president of the municipal board of DF in Pljevlja, a mining engineer and was employed in RUP until 2002, when he moved to the position of director of the municipal Waterworks, which he held until 2014.
It is expected that a meeting of the board of directors of Elektroprivreda (EPCG) will soon be scheduled, which should elect the board of directors of CEDIS and RUP, after which the boards will elect the executive directors of the companies.
These two companies are sole proprietorships that are wholly owned by EPCG.
According to their statutes, the board of directors of EPCG has the authority of the Assembly of shareholders of CEDIS and RUP, that is, it appoints the boards of directors.
Those appointments are expected soon.
The current convocation of the board of directors consists of president Miodrag Čanović, then Zoran Đukanović (who is also the executive director), Marko Radulović and Emil Đokić.
Two days ago, the EPCG board of directors dismissed the company's executive director Igor Noveljić (DPS) and elected Nikola Rovčanin, spokesman and member of the Main Board of Democratic Montenegro, in his place.
Noveljić was elected as executive director for a four-year term in July 2017, which means that his mandate lasted until the end of July this year and that he was replaced before the end of the mandate.
According to the EPCG Statute, the Board of Directors can remove the executive director before the end of the mandate only if he "does not meet the requirements for appointment to the given position, does not actually achieve the expected results for the given position and if he acts fundamentally in violation of any relevant law, regulation or Statute".
The board of directors did not state with what explanation Noveljić was dismissed.
"Vijesti" was unofficially told that the current director was "dismissed without giving reasons, which is allowed by Article 174 paragraph 3 of the Law on Business Companies".
EPCG and its companies employ two thousand workers and represent the most important state resource. EPCG is also the owner of 20 percent of the shares in Prva banka, which according to current share prices are worth around four million euros.
The energy company in Prva banka, whose largest owner is Aco Đukanović, also holds deposits of 20 million euros.
EPCG ended last year with a profit of 16 million, while the year before it was 28 million euros.
Total undistributed profit from previous years amounts to 59 million euros.
