Improving the Montenegrin economy is everyone's task, and diplomacy is an important factor in overcoming the negative effects of the crisis and the desired change in the perception of credible investors, assessed the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Đorđe Radulović.
During today's conversation with representatives of the Union of Employers (UPCG), headed by its president Predrag Mitrović, he said that the Government is committed to economic recovery, and that the important aspects are the fight against the gray economy and corruption, which society already recognizes as destructive in the context economy, but also deeply wrong on the ethical, moral and political level.
Radulović stated that he is convinced that the new generations will constantly raise the criteria and prove in their everyday life that even the smallest form of corruption is unacceptable.
He explained that this is exactly the goal of the Government, which implements a policy of zero tolerance for this phenomenon, which will result in the constant efforts of everyone in society to make the eradication of corruption the norm, and not just a letter on paper, which will ultimately change the perception of investors.
Mitrović said that UPCG, as a social partner, is an important actor in the country, but also outside it, where it makes exceptional contacts with businessmen and organizations such as the International Labor Organization and the International Employers' Organization, which represents great capital for Montenegro.
As the former ambassador of Montenegro, he evaluated the concept of economic diplomacy as extremely important, pointing out that, implemented as a joint action, it can be a great support for the economy and the preparation of the tourist season ahead, as well as all future efforts in that sector.
Mitrović also said that long-term work on the issues of creating an environment for sustainable business development, eliminating the gray economy and corruption is the core of that employer's organization.
The General Secretary of the UPCG, Suzana Radulović, said that overcoming these problems is also the key to solving the crisis and progressing towards the European Union.
She recalled the document Five Business Killers, which was issued in 2013 and targets exactly this topic.
"Unfortunately, not much has been done in that line since then, but in the coming period it is necessary to take big steps and reach every citizen and businessman with the message about the harmfulness of these phenomena," said Suzana Radulović.
The representative of UPCG, Zvezdana Oluić, emphasized the importance of the upcoming season and announced that she will soon start a campaign to promote Montenegro as a safe tourist destination through the idea that vaccinated tourist workers wear badges that will suggest to guests that they are safe from covid.
In this sense, Oluić invited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to join the campaign, stressing that the message that Montenegro is a safe and good host even in the time of the health crisis is a voice that every institution and every citizen should send to the world. .
