The new airline To Montenegro will again be decorated with the contours of an eagle, similar to Montenegro Airlines, with a dominant dark blue color.
The winner of the conceptual solution is the graphic designer from Russia Maksim Arbuzov.
He said that he was honored and pleased to have participated in the competition and to have won the award
"I have lived in Montenegro for a year and I think that those who have not lived in Montenegro cannot feel the true spirit of this country, because it is extremely beautiful. You need to observe what is around you," he said.
Arbuzov said that the new solution is based on the previous logo of Montenegro Airlines.
"I think that in a way it is part of the heritage and heritage of your country and I thought that I should preserve it but also add to it in some way... The heritage of MA was the symbol of the eagle, which is a magnificent bird and I decided to keep that symbol In addition to the eagle in flight, we also have the symbol of the mountains," said Arbuzov and added that the sky was also his inspiration.
The executive director of To Montenegro, Predrag Todorović, said that they received 109 conceptual solutions from all over the world.
"The contest was an example of how a contest should look and how things should work. We had different opinions, we had several rounds of agreements, but we came to a solution that is best for everyone. The commercial name of the company will be Air Montenegro," he said and added that they checked from the legal side that the logo is not protected.
Todorović stated that the preparations for the first flights of Air Montenegro are proceeding according to plan, and that they will begin implementation in accordance with the plan. He did not want to comment on the cooperation of To Montenegro with the bankruptcy administration of Montenegro Airlines, and whether it can affect the start of take-off of new planes.
Member of the expert jury and dean of the Faculty of Visual Arts, Nikola Laktović, emphasized the importance of the competition for the selection of conceptual solutions.
"The task of the competition was to preserve the legacy of Montenegro Airlines, which has existed since 1995, and today we maintain that continuity," he said.
He stated that the competition is also special because a redesign of the winning solution was requested, and he said that all the professional parameters of the competition were respected.
"The competition was also motivating in terms of the financial aspect. The breakthrough was that the competition was anonymous, and the jury consisted of experts, four members out of seven. The competition went through two rounds, of which 25 solutions passed the first round. After that, we then we chose the five best solutions," said Latković.
He stated that they distributed three prizes, and that the prize fund was 20 thousand euros. The winner received 16 thousand euros, the runner-up received 2,5 thousand euros, and the two third-place winners shared 1.500 euros.
