Minister of Economic Development Jakov Milatović sent a letter to the representatives of the hotel operator Amana, which manages the city hotel "Sveti Stefan" and Villa Miločer, as well as the tenant "Adriatic Properties", expecting that the hotel facilities will be opened as soon as possible.
In the letter, which Vijesti had access to, Milatović recalls that in the previous period he had intensive discussions both with representatives of the local community, the Municipality of Budva, and Morski Dobr, convinced that through constant dialogue with the local community, a permanent solution would be reached.
We remind you that Aman announced a month ago that it would not open the exclusive Sveti Stefan - Miločer resort, which was confirmed by the company Adriatic Properties, businessman Petros Statis, and announced the departure from Montenegro, including the initiation of international arbitration.
One of the main reasons stated is that they cannot guarantee peace and discretion to their guests, which is the basic recommendation of Amman, because the residents of Sveti Stefan and Pržno are looking for access to Kraljičina and Kraljeva beach, which are leased for several decades together with hotel facilities.
In the meantime, the workers were sent on vacations, offered severance pay and clearly informed that they were looking for work in other hotels. The department headed by Milatović was intensively involved in solving the problem.
Milatović's letter was addressed to the representatives of Amman and Adriatic Properties, Rolando Fasel and Goran Bencun.
"It was a pleasure to meet you and discuss all issues related to Amman at the meeting we held on May 24 at the Ministry of Economic Development.
As you have been informed, in the hope that we will find a solution to the disputed issues, the Ministry of Economic Development organized another meeting on June 9, to which representatives of Aman and Adriatic Properties were invited, as well as representatives of the Sveti Stefan Local Community, the Municipality of Budva, Morski Good, as well as the Ministry of Ecology, Spatial Planning and Urbanism.
Unfortunately, despite the fact that you confirmed your presence, the representatives of Aman and Adriatic Properties did not come to the meeting. This meeting was another opportunity to talk openly and constructively with all interested parties.
Representatives of the local community presented the problems they and their guests face when it comes to the Sveti Stefan complex (including Kraljičina beach). According to them, the aforementioned irregularities and the absence of a constructive dialogue with the representatives of Amman led to isolated incidents.
After the meeting, the representatives of the local community also issued a press release in which they state that they will make every effort not to jeopardize the business of Aman and that it continues to work in the way it has been doing so far," says Milatović in a letter that Vijesti had access to. .

As the Ministry of Economic Development points out, they consider it a gesture of goodwill and a clear sign that the local community is also interested in Aman staying in Montenegro.
"In this sense, I want to use this opportunity to once again confirm the strategic determination of our Ministry to be available to all investors.
This means that the Ministry of Economic Development, within its competences, will act in order to fulfill the expectations of investors, but strictly respecting the laws of the state of Montenegro, which guarantee the peaceful possession and enjoyment of contractual rights.
Therefore, the Ministry of Economic Development will indemnify the lessor on the basis of all requests for compensation of damages or requests based on any other legal basis submitted by third parties if such actions are contrary to the law or the Lease Agreement for the Hotel Sveti Stefan i Miločer in Budva," says Milatović. and adds:
"Keep in mind that the Ministry of Economic Development has the ability and obligation to protect only those rights included in the Lease Agreement, which is why we consider constant dialogue with the local community extremely important in order to reach a permanent solution to any disputed issue.
Bearing in mind the above, including the fact that the force majeure you refer to in your previous address did not exist, which was clearly confirmed in the announcement of the local community, the Ministry of Economic Development expects the facility from the Lease Agreement to be opened and put into operation, which is as soon as possible", concludes Milatović.
