The Social Democratic Party (SDP) will be against any plan to sell off the Port of Bar under the direction of the new government, as it prevented its sale during the previous mandate, announced the president of the Bar Municipal Board of that party, Vladimir Božović.
"Luka Bar is one of the companies that represents a classic state monopoly, from which every country in the world can collect huge revenues. With its position and characteristics, it is unique, because such a port cannot be built anywhere else on the Montenegrin coast", said Božović in the announcement.
The Port of Bar is an extremely profitable and in some way a monopoly company, which, with domestic management, has enormous potential for further development, from which the state and citizens should benefit.
"Its value as a resource increases exponentially with the construction of the Bar-Boljara highway, so it is the duty of every responsible authority and serious state to use the huge funds it has given for the highway, among other things, for an even stronger valorization of the Port of Bar," he said. is Božović.

He believes that it is difficult to imagine the logic by which the Port of Bar is being sold while building a highway at the same time.
"As a profitable company with millions of profits, Luka has no problems with investing and generating development from its own resources. There are more than enough convincing arguments that we must keep Luka in state ownership," said Božović.
That is why he warned the new government that any possible plan to sell Luka Bar will be met with fierce resistance from the SDP.
