The Administration of Revenue and Customs (UPC) realized in the first six months a total gross collection in the amount of 858,5 million euros, which is two percent above the realization from the same period last year and represents, as assessed, a clear indicator of economic recovery.

Head of the Public Education Department at UPC Milica Vuletić she said that during the first six months UPC earned 16 million euros more compared to the same period last year.

"It is a clear indicator of the recovery of the economy after the most important part of the pandemic, which had a significant negative impact on the business of businessmen and which therefore affected the reduction of budget revenues in the earlier period," said Vuletić to the Mina-business agency.

Observing the structure of the collected collection, as she said, it is evident that during the first six months a visible recovery of revenue collection was achieved, and this in very significant tax forms such as value added tax (VAT) on importation, customs duties, excise taxes, coffee tax and taxes and contributions on employees' wages.

"So at the moment we are recording growth in almost all types of income. First, I will mention the collection of contributions for mandatory social security in the amount of 251 million euros, which is 23 million euros more than in the same period last year, or ten percent," said Vuletić.

According to her, when it comes to import VAT, a collection of 216,5 million euros was achieved, which is seven million, or three percent more than in the same period last year.

"Collection of personal income tax amounted to 82 million euros, which is seven percent more than last year," Vuletić added.

When it comes to the collection of corporate profit tax, as she stated, the amount of 57,5 million was realized, which is four million less than in the same period last year.

"During the last year, we realized the collection of income based on the profit tax related to the year 2019, which was a record year in terms of the level of economic activity achieved in Montenegro," Vuletić added.
