Rising Rajnka: USA and Montenegro will initiate an economic dialogue, there is interest from American investors

In the coming months, the United States of America and Montenegro will launch a bilateral economic dialogue, deepening cooperation in the trade and investment fields in order to create new opportunities for investments by American companies. The involvement of the private sector in these working groups will be the most important for the success of the dialogue, and AmCham is one of the key partners in this process, said the Ambassador of the United States of America to Montenegro, Judy Rising Reinke, at the event held before the General Assembly Session of AmCham Montenegro.

Speaking about the business environment in Montenegro, she particularly referred to the benefits that membership in NATO brought to Montenegro.

"It's no secret that investors are looking for stability and predictability. In the long term, every new investment implies new jobs, infrastructure development, additional income and a better standard of living for the citizens of Montenegro. All this affects the status of Montenegro on the international stage. Investors are becoming curious because they want to learn as much as possible about new markets and new opportunities," said Rajing Rajnke.

As announced by the American Chamber of Commerce (AmCham Montenegro), the ambassador stated that there is an increased interest of American investors in projects and investments in Montenegro and that they recognize the most business opportunities in the tourism, energy and agriculture sectors.

She also emphasized the importance of the development of entrepreneurship, the digital economy and a generally transparent business environment for the prosperity of Montenegrin citizens.

"We will continue to encourage the Government of Montenegro to stay on the Euro-Atlantic course - to implement concrete reforms aimed at improving the business climate, reducing corruption and strengthening institutions," said the ambassador.

In a conversation with the ambassador, the president of the AmCham Board of Directors, Nikola Tripković, said that AmCham will always be focused on development.

"We appreciate the contribution of the US Embassy to further improve the Montenegrin business environment in order to attract more American investments. That is why AmCham Montenegro remains committed to its mission and values, firmly believing that only a transparent and predictable business environment, based on the rule of law, can attract new reputable investors , but also to motivate the existing ones to stay in Montenegro," said Tripković.

At today's session of the General Assembly of AmCham Montenegro, Katarina Bulatović, an individual member of the chamber, Luka Popović from BDK Advokati, Nenad Novović from Amplitudo and Sava Laketić from PricewaterhouseCoopers were elected as members of the Board of Directors, while Predrag Lešić from doMEn and Sanja Ćalasan from Breweries of Trebjesa.

Six members, together with existing board member Svetlana Vuksanović from Philip Morris Montenegro, will begin their new mandates on August 1, 2021.
