The Ministry of Economic Development has announced a public call for support for organizing events or festivals worth more than 20 euros.

The invitation, which will be open for 21 days, i.e. until August 26, provides for the allocation of funds to cover part of the costs of organizing events or festivals.

The total amount of funds per public call is 60 thousand euros.

Beneficiaries of support are organizers of events or festivals from several categories - tourist organizations, sports federations, other associations and associations, non-governmental organizations, public institutions and other entities with the status of enterprises in Montenegro.

The public invitation is published as part of the Program of Incentive Measures in the field of tourism for this year, which must be implemented in accordance with the valid epidemiological measures, recommendations and protocols prescribed by the Institute for Public Health and the Ministry of Health at the time of realization of the event or festival.

"In the event of a worsening of the epidemiological situation and the impossibility of realization of the supported manifestations or festivals, the Ministry reserves the right to suspend the realization of the Program", it is stated in the public invitation.

The program also applies to manifestations or festivals that were realized in the period from January 1 of this year until the day of the public invitation, due to the continuity of support due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The applicant can only apply with one event or festival.

Funds can be used exclusively for organizing events or festivals that have an entertainment, cultural or sports character. The program does not include support for expert, thematic gatherings, conferences and the like.

The funds are intended for co-financing the costs of purchasing goods and services for the immediate implementation of events or festivals that contribute to the development of the tourist offer of the destination.

Funds can be used for renting equipment such as audio and visual equipment and a stage, as well as for the purchase of working or consumable materials necessary for the organization of the event or festival.

Funds can also be used to rent space for events, ie festivals, and vehicles for the purpose of transporting organizers and performers.

They can also be used for accommodation costs and travel expenses of performers and associates engaged on the basis of the contract, costs of promotion of the manifestation or festival and its security services, as well as other justified costs related to the immediate organization of the manifestation or festival.

The funds cannot be used for the purchase of real estate, the expenses of the event organizer's regular business, the preparation of studies, studies, project and other documentation, the rental and purchase of vehicles for the event organizer's regular business, the organizer's office expenses and all other expenses that are not related to the implementation of the declared event. that is, the festival.

The maximum amount of funds that can be approved is up to 20 percent of justified costs for organizing the event, and the maximum amount of support is eight thousand euros for an individual event or festival.

The user is obliged to provide the remaining amount of funds for the realization of the manifestation or festival.

Requests with accompanying documentation are submitted to the address of the Ministry, directly to the archive of that department or by mail.

Funds will be granted to projects according to the points list from the highest number of points downwards, until the final distribution of the total amount of funds. If the last project on the score list exceeds the total amount of 60 thousand euros of available funds, the project can receive only part of the requested funds. In that case, the potential user will have the option to withdraw the request.

The decision on the selection of projects and the allocation of funds will be made no later than 45 days after the closing of the public call.
