Over 23 taxpayers were taxed in Montenegro, and as of June 1, 12 million euros more in value added tax (VAT) was collected compared to the same period last year, the Revenue and Customs Administration announced.
The head of the Department for Public Education in the Revenue and Customs Administration, Milica Vuletić, said that more than 23 taxpayers have been fiscalized since the beginning of the implementation of the Law on Fiscalization, which is significantly more than on June 1, when it was the last day to is switched to a new traffic recording system.
Vuletić said in the morning program of TVCG that she is encouraged by the fact that businessmen themselves in business cooperation are beginning to insist on receiving fiscalized invoices and bills from their clients.
"We have exceeded 50 percent of taxpayers who are in the system, now the number of taxpayers who are outside the system is smaller, but a large number of them still need to comply with the law. I would not speculate with the figures, because only time will tell," Vuletić explained. .
As she stated, more than 86 million fiscalized accounts have been recorded in the system since the beginning of the year, which shows the economic flow in Montenegro, reports the RTCG portal.
She explained that all this is reflected in the collection of tax revenues, although fiscalization does not affect the collection process, but the reporting of tax obligations.
"From June 1 until today, we have collected value added tax in the amount of over 64 million euros, which is almost 12 million more than in the same period last year," specified Vuletić.
They notice, as she said, that a large number of natural persons have not yet switched to the electronic fiscalization system.
"Whether it's because they consciously avoid the law or because some taxpayers didn't know that they should be fiscalized, we had some professions like consultants and translators," Vuletić added.
She said that the controls have been strengthened, and that the inspectors have good results.
"During the season, they controlled more than 1,6 thousand taxpayers, and irregularities were found in 147 of them. Misdemeanor warrants in the amount of half a million euros were issued," said Vuletić.
