The leadership of the Chamber of Commerce (PKCG), which is close to the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), plans to change the Statute of that organization again in the part that refers to the conditions to be met by the president, all in order to enable Nina Drakić who is now in the position of acting president is elected as president. In addition, the plan is to change the Statute so that the mandate of the vice president is not tied to the mandate of the president. This information has been confirmed by "News" from multiple sources in PKCG.
The sources of "Vijesti" explained that according to the current conditions, Drakić would not be able to assume the position of president because she does not have the conditions to manage companies.
"A meeting of the Board of Directors is scheduled for this week, where there will be information on business operations based on the submitted financial statements for last year, while the second item is related to economic trends and challenges in business during this year. Under the point of current issues would be the change of the Statute", explained one of the "Vijesti" sources.
Decisions of the Board of Directors should be confirmed by the Assembly of the PKCG.
"Vijesti" asked PKCG yesterday if a new amendment to the Statute is planned in the part of the conditions for electing the president of PKCG in order to simplify the conditions for candidacy and if it is planned, when it will be. It was answered that they do not have that information and that the Assembly of the Chamber is responsible for amending the Statute.
PKCG should announce a new competition for the president after Vojin Žugić refused to take the place of the first man of the Chamber on September 1. Drakić, who is the vice president of the Chamber, assumed the position of acting president on September 1.
Žugić was elected president of PKCG at the Assembly on July 29, after the previous one Vlastimir Golubović resigned from that position. With his resignation, Golubović limited his mandate to August 31, so Žugić was supposed to start presiding on September 1.
At the electronic session at the end of August, the PKCG Assembly adopted changes to the Statute, according to which one of the vice-presidents will take over that position, until the elections for the president are organized again. The decision to amend the PKCG Statute was published on the same day in the Official Gazette.
The amendment to the Statute stipulates that the Management Board, in the event of termination of the president's mandate (resignation and other reasons), initiates the procedure for the election of a new president within 60 days. The section on the term of office of the vice-presidents and general secretary has also been changed, so that they will perform their functions until the election of a new president of the PKCG.
Žugić previously explained to "Vijesti" that he is resigning because he does not accept that this institution becomes a place of political struggle and conflict of different interests.
According to unofficial information, Žugić told his associates that he realized that he would not be able to achieve quality cooperation with the new government, that he had problems communicating with some of his associates, as well as that all of this would take a lot of his energy and that he would not have time for his private business. with the company "Stadion".
Žugić was considered a candidate of the hard current of the former government led by the DPS, which intended to retain part of its influence through the PKCG and use it to criticize the new government.
After his election, Žugić had a more conciliatory tone.
In an interview with "Vijesta", he said that the Government and PKCG are natural partners, aimed at the same goal, which is to ensure sustainable economic growth, which is a prerequisite for the well-being of society and the state as a whole.
