There is a willingness to further strengthen the good cooperation between the Government and the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro in the field of European integration with the aim of fulfilling obligations as well as possible, but also preparing for the opportunities that future membership will bring to the Montenegrin economy and society as a whole, it was assessed at the meeting of the chief negotiator, Zorka Kordić and acting president of the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro, Nina Drakić.
As stated in the announcement, the interlocutors agreed that PKCG, whose members have been involved in the work of negotiation working groups since the beginning of the accession negotiations, made a significant contribution to the fulfillment of European obligations, both with professional knowledge and direct contacts and inputs from the business community.
At the meeting, opinions were also exchanged regarding the possibilities and modalities for improving existing cooperation.
Kordić pointed out that, although the rule of law is the focus of the accession negotiations, economic topics, through the application of the revised methodology, gain more and more importance and become a crucial part of the negotiation process. She welcomed the participation of PKCG members in the work of working groups for negotiations and pointed out that they can count on the support of the Office for European Integration for the implementation of projects and activities important for EU accession.
Drakić said during the meeting that PKCG is ready to help create a business environment in accordance with European standards and values through its working bodies, at the national and regional level, and thereby contribute to Montenegro's path to the EU.
She particularly emphasized the readiness of PKCG to contribute to strengthening the capacities of small and medium-sized enterprises for the use of EU funds and the preparation and implementation of quality projects.
In this context, the interlocutors assessed that there is room for cooperation in the field of using numerous EU projects and programs that are already available to Montenegro, as well as for the preparation of the economy, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, for the use of structural funds and opportunities that Montenegro will have be available after membership.
They also exchanged opinions regarding the contribution that Montenegro can provide to the Conference on the Future of Europe.
