In the situation of a severe economic crisis, a new increase in the price of fuel, basic foodstuffs and a dizzying jump in unemployment, it would be beneficial for the Minister of Finance and Social Welfare, Milojko Spajić, to devote himself to the reality in which citizens live, according to the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS).
"Instead of Minister Spajić, after all, like most of the Government, making excursions around the white world at the expense of citizens, and visiting church leaders, it would be beneficial if he devoted himself to the reality in which the citizens of the country of which he is the minister live," said a member of the DPS Executive Board -a, Mihailo Andjušić.
According to him, while Spajić is vainly justifying himself with stories about the rise in fuel prices at the global level, trying to cover up his own incompetence and ineptitude, the governments of some other countries have announced a one-time aid payment to the most vulnerable categories of the population due to the increase in fuel prices.
"The fact that the new jump in fuel prices will further affect the already threatened farmers, who have been brought to the brink of existence due to the ignorant attitude of the relevant ministry and the late adoption of the Agricultural Budget, also shows that the minister does not take anyone's interests into account," said Andušić.
He said that the fact that the public debt, since his ministerial "enthronement", has increased by 500 million euros, while the unemployment rate has reached a record level of 25 percent, and Montenegro is recording a drastic drop in direct foreign investments, speaks of Spajić's expertise.
"It is obvious that Minister Spajić, in charge of state finances, but also for social issues, by his inaction and the marketing of the political pamphlet Marshall's Plan shows that his priority is a new election race and not the improvement of citizens' standards," Andušić said.
He said that the drowning man is grasping at the straw of salvation, and this government cannot even find that straw.
"All research shows that the vast majority of citizens are dissatisfied with the work of Prime Minister Zdravko Krivokapić's cabinet, and that the worst government in Montenegrin history, of which this young expert is the face, is certain to end soon," the announcement concludes.
