The Board of Directors of Plantaž dismissed the executive director Miroslav Vuković and the secretary of the company Rajka Pejović, "Vijesti" learns.
Zoran Miladinović, who has been employed at Plantaže since 1991, was appointed acting director of Plantaže. Until now, he was the chief technologist in the company.
Out of seven members, all six representatives of the state capital voted for the removal of Vuković and Pejović, while only the representative of Crnogorska kommercielja banka, which has about 10 percent of the shares, was against.
Earlier, it was announced that the Board session with this item on the agenda would be held on Thursday, but the Board of Directors decided to hold it as an emergency today due to "obstructions that have started that could cause additional damage to the company".
He was elected to that position in October last year by the board of directors appointed by the former government led by DPS, and at the suggestion of the previous director Verica Maraš. Vuković was previously her close associate as director of the Legal and General Affairs Sector. After the change of government, a new board of directors was elected in April, but Vuković remained the executive director.
For months, the new board of directors has been dissatisfied with his work, results, previous actions while he was the head of the legal department during the time of the former director, as well as his attitude towards workers and colleagues. In June, the trade union organized a warning strike demanding that the board of directors dismiss Vuković. The reasons why Vuković was not dismissed then, apart from the political support of the DF, was that there was no well-rounded opinion on how to choose a new director and management of the company.
According to "Vijesti" information, after the dismissal of Vuković, an acting deputy would be appointed, who according to the Statute must be from the company, and then a competition would be announced. The current position of the Government and the Board of Directors is that due to the huge inherited problems in this company, professionals are being sought for the new director, as well as for the main managerial positions (directors of the most important sectors), who could pull "Plantaže" out of a deep crisis.
According to current data, the company's debt for taxes and contributions has grown to seven million euros, there are also several million urgent debts to suppliers and other partners, and obligations for previously taken loans from banks are also due. Problems include an excess of workers in the administration and a shortage in production, new systematization is also needed, as well as an agreement with the union regarding the new collective agreement.
The company was in big trouble even before the corona pandemic, and in the record year 2019, it had no loss only thanks to the sale of shares in Podgorica banka and part of real estate. The pandemic caused additional problems last year and in the first half of this year due to reduced sales.
