The economic relations between Montenegro and Jordan should be improved, and there is especially room for the participation of Jordanian investors in the implementation of current and planned projects in tourism, announced the Chamber of Commerce (PKCG).

The PKCG announced that the newly appointed ambassador of Jordan, Ahed Sweidat, spoke with the acting president of the Chamber, Nina Drakić, about the possibilities of developing economic cooperation between the two countries.

"We are willing to have good economic relations with Montenegro. We want concrete results of economic cooperation so that the economic relations are of the same quality as the political ones established between our two countries", Sweidat said.

He stated that he sees the possibility of cooperation between the tourism officials of the two countries, adding that the establishment of a low-cost line between the airports in Montenegro and Jordan would significantly contribute to better tourist exchanges.

Sweidat said that Jordan is a very important producer of electrical appliances, especially air conditioners, which it exports to a large extent to the market of the United States of America (USA), followed by chocolate, organic food and fertilizers.

Drakić emphasized the important role of the Chamber as an association that brings together the entire Montenegrin economy, particularly apostrophizing its importance in the development of international relations and the promotion of the business of Montenegrin companies.

"The Chamber has an established cooperation with the Amman Chamber of Commerce, and the interlocutors agreed that it should be extended to other Jordanian chambers of industry and commerce," the announcement states.

It was agreed that a delegation of businessmen from Montenegro would visit Jordan, in order to establish contacts and consider opportunities for partnerships on specific projects.

This visit will be realized as soon as the pandemic circumstances allow.

Drakić presented the economic potential of Montenegro, especially highlighting those for the development of agricultural production, energy from renewable sources, tourism with an emphasis on health and information and communication technologies.

She also emphasized the importance of Port of Bar as a hub destination for the entry of goods from Jordan destined for the markets of the region and the European Union (EU).
