I got rid of a lot of trouble, he told "Vijesta" Miroslav Vuković who was dismissed yesterday from the position of executive director of "Plantaž" by the board of directors of that company.
He was appointed acting director of this company Zoran Miladinović, until the competition is held. The secretary was also dismissed yesterday Rajka Pejović, while the new secretary Goran Milic.
Miladinović graduated from the Faculty of Agriculture in Čačak in 1990. He completed his master's studies at the Faculty of Agriculture in Belgrade in 1999, while he defended his doctoral dissertation at the same faculty in 2005. He has been employed at "Plantaže" since 1991, and until now he was the chief technologist.
Of the seven members of the board of directors, all six representatives of the state capital voted for the removal of Vuković and Pejović, while only the representative of Crnogorska kommercielja banka, which has about 10 percent of the shares, was against.
"The Board of Directors is convinced that these changes will lead to positive developments in the further operations of the company," stated the statement after the Board session.
Earlier, it was announced that the Board session with this item on the agenda would be held on Thursday, but the Board of Directors decided to hold it as an emergency yesterday due to "obstructions that have started that could cause additional damage to the company".
After his dismissal, Vuković told "Vijesta" that he was relieved of a lot of pain, because a year ago, when he was elected to that position, he accepted the dangerous undertaking to work on the recovery of the company.
"I expected a lot from last year's political changes. I am glad that all the representatives of the new government showed unity in voting for my dismissal, and that this unity will continue by electing a new government. I especially appreciate that I received support from the representatives of Crnogorska kommercielja banka Nikola Perišić. When I was elected to this position, out of the then nine members of the board of directors, I received six votes, while three were against. Perišić then voted against me, and now he was the only one for me, because bankers know how to value results," Vuković said.
He says that he has left behind results and that they will be seen in the new business report for nine months of this year. He also stated that he had finished the big job of arranging the company's property, especially the land, i.e. the transfer of the right of use into ownership, and that this would be reflected in the new assessment of the property. When asked if he would try to legally challenge his dismissal, Vuković said that he would wait to see the written explanation and the stated reasons for the dismissal.
The plantations have over 45 million euros in debts accumulated from previous years. The government planned to help them with a capital increase of 7,5 million euros, but the Agency for the Protection of Competition made this state aid conditional.
Vuković was elected as executive director after the long-time director resigned Verica Marash due to the double negative assessment of the State Audit Institution on the work and operations of "Plantaža". At that time, Vuković was the director of the Department for Legal Affairs.
