More than 32 exhibitors from the north and other Montenegrin municipalities presented home-made products, medicinal plants, machinery, as well as creative traditional arts at the first agricultural fair held in Andrijevica.
The fair, organized by the Regional Educational Center for Agriculture, with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management and local self-government, was held at the Komovi Hotel on Tuesday.
The Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, Aleksandar Stijović, stated that this manifestation confirms that the hardworking hosts, who are making enormous efforts to create more and better, are the future of this region and the initial capsule on which the north can grow and develop.
Stijović, as announced by the Ministry, announced that through the next Agricultural Budget, such manifestations will be recognized and even more intensively supported, not only in Andrijevica, but also throughout Montenegro.
"The products I saw today give me the right to say that they represent the future of this region. These products are something on which the North can prosper and on which its future development can be based. At the same time, this shows that Andrijevica has a future and that such events should contribute to these valuable hosts placing their products more easily on the wider market", said Stijović.
The President of the Municipality, Željko Ćulafić, stated that the local Administration recognized agriculture as a development opportunity for Andrijevica and that the further development of this sector is supported by incentive measures, including such gatherings.
"Due to its geographical and other characteristics, the municipality of Andrijevica is a God-given place for farming. That is why we are always with our valuable hosts from whom we can expect significant results in this area. And this fair shows that for us the peasant is in the first place, because without a hardworking host there is no strong village, and without a strong village there is no strong city and country", said Ćulafić.
That is why, as he stated, the responsible people from that municipality will always try to continue to recognize and support such significant events of the manifestation.
He said that the doors of the Municipality are open for any support to the worthy hosts.
The fair was attended by the President of the Municipality of Berane Tihomir Bogavac and Vice President Darko Stojanović, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, Director General of the Directorate for Agriculture Miroslav Cimbaljević, Director of the Directorate for Food Safety Vladimir Đaković, Head of the Directorate for Animal Husbandry Ranko Bogavac, Advisor for Direct Payments Dragan Šutović and consultant for organic production Milica Bucković.
This is the first agricultural fair held in Andrijevica. The organizers have prepared prizes for the most successful exhibitors, so the jury's decisions declared the stands of Sanja and Miloš Delević, Dragana Dubak and Igor Ćirović as the most beautifully decorated stands.
Radoslav Raković was declared the best exhibitor of domestic handicrafts. Refik Hadžibegović had the most diverse range of products, while the award for the best brandy went to Milovan Milačić.
