The evaluations and recommendations from this year's European Commission (EC) Report are complementary to the analysis of the situation and, together with the Road Map, will serve as a guide for more efficient fulfillment of obligations from Chapter 15 - Energy, announced the head of the Working Group, Marko Perunović.
"I am convinced that the competent institutions will responsibly approach the planning and implementation of all obligations, so that the next EC report states progress in chapter 15 - Energy", said Perunović, who is also the state secretary for energy and mining in the Ministry of Capital Investments.
He, as announced by the General Secretariat of the Government, said that this year's report noted limited progress in the chapter, and that special attention in the coming period will be focused on the implementation of the received recommendations, through the implementation of the Roadmap for the Energy chapter, the finalization of which is planned by end of the month.
Perunović informed the attendees that the annual report of the Secretariat of the Energy Community was published on November 15, according to which Montenegro, although it recorded a drop of four points, due to the non-compliance of the Pljevlja coal-fired thermal power plant with pollution standards and the lack of secondary regulations for auctions for energy from renewable sources sources, still the most advanced on the scale with 65 percent.
As he said, that report points out that Montenegro's progress in the field of energy from renewable sources is relatively high, and the implementation of regulations in the energy efficiency sector is almost complete.
Bearing in mind the preparation of the revised EU Accession Program of Montenegro, the members of the Working Group agreed on the dynamics of work on the assessment of the new celex package received from the EC, as well as other obligations from the negotiation process in the domain of Chapter 15.
