NTO: A significant perspective for cooperation between Montenegro and Great Britain

There is a significant perspective for cooperation in the field of tourism and investments between Montenegro and Great Britain, the National Tourism Organization (NTO) announced.

It is reported that the President of the Parliamentary Committee for Tourism, Agriculture, Ecology and Spatial Planning Dragan Krapović and the Director of NTO Ana Tripković Marković held a video meeting with the member of the Parliament of the United Kingdom Martin Vickers today.

As announced, Krapović highlighted the significant potential of Montenegro as an investment destination, especially after the completion of the priority section of the Bar - Boljare highway.

"Krapović said that, in addition to the Montenegrin coast, for which it is recognized, there is a great opportunity to present the northern part of Montenegro, which has significant natural resources, to investors and tour operators from Great Britain," the statement said.

Krapović said that, in the coming period, he will emphasize the valorization of that part of the country.

Director of NTO, Ana Tripković Marković, said that they are paying special attention to the UK market, which is one of the first priority markets for Montenegro.

"She informed Vickers that during her participation in one of the world's most important tourism fairs, WTM 2021 in London, seven-day arrangements for Montenegro for next year have already been agreed," the announcement states.

Tripković Marković said that just a few weeks after the announcement of package tours for Montenegro, extremely good bookings were recorded from that market.

She stated that it is the second largest tour operator in Great Britain, Jet 2 holidays, which flies to Dubrovnik, and which will send tourists from those flights to Montenegro, while direct flights with Montenegro are planned for 2023.

"Another airline company easyJet is already planning direct flights to Montenegro from London and Manchester for next year from the end of March to the end of September, which will further bring the British market closer to our destination," said Tripković Marković.

According to the NTO, Vickers agreed that there is a significant perspective for future cooperation between the two countries in the field of tourism and investments.

He announced a visit to Montenegro in the first quarter of next year, in order to consider the possibilities in more detail and agree on concrete steps in order to attract both investors and tour operators from Great Britain.

"Vickers emphasized his readiness to provide support to Montenegro on its path of development, and emphasized the importance of continuing intensive communication between his cabinet and representatives of the Committee for Tourism, Agriculture, Ecology and Spatial Planning and NTO," the statement said.
