Montenegro and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) share a large portfolio of joint activities, which relate not only to the financial and banking sector, but also to legal and support for the development of entrepreneurship in Montenegro.
This will be, as announced at the meeting of the Minister of Finance Darko Radunović and Director of the State Treasury Directorate Dragan Darmanović with the newly appointed director of the EBRD for Central and Southeastern Europe, Charlotte Ruhe and the new head of the mentioned financial institution's office in Montenegro, Jaap Sprey , to remain in the focus of cooperation in the following period as well.
According to the statement of the Ministry of Finance, Ruhe stated that Montenegro is one of the countries in the region with which the EBRD has the most intensive cooperation.
"This is also indicated by the fact that specifically in the field of private sector development, the aforementioned bank realizes the most projects in our country," said Ruhe.
This, he adds, indicates the activism of private individuals to start and develop business and thereby contribute to the creation of new value.
Referring to the initiated activities and joint projects, Radunović pointed out the importance of the partnership with the EBRD in the field of the development of transport infrastructure, which represents the flywheel of economic growth and development, as well as the development of energy and regional connectivity.
"The interlocutors expressed their openness and willingness to intensify cooperation in the coming period and enrich it with new content," the announcement says.
