SD submitted amendments to the proposed budget

Deputies of the Social Democrats (SD) submitted amendments to the Budget Law Proposal for 2022. The proposed amendments do not require additional funds in the budget, but it is suggested that the necessary funds be diverted from the positions of proposed expenses for official travel and payment of work contracts.

The first amendment proposes that 1,3 million euros, which are intended for official trips, be redirected to the implementation of the project of awarding free snacks and free transportation to children from socially disadvantaged families. The SD reminds that the Bill on the budget for 2022 foresees almost five million euros for official trips, that is, even 1,3 million euros more than what was in the budget for 2021 for that purpose. The second amendment proposes that one million euros from the funds earmarked for the payment of the work contract be "redirected to the realization of two important projects".

"The budget proposal for 2022 foresees over 13 million euros for the payment of work contracts, almost one million euros more than what was in the budget for 2021 for that purpose. The first project refers to the increase of proposed funds for grant schemes that relating to the employment of persons with disabilities for half a million euros. Namely, in the budget a million euros were proposed for this purpose, while 2021 million were proposed in 1,5 and much more in 2020. Unfortunately, the funds provided for this year's implementation of the grant scheme project, which related to the employment of persons with disabilities will not be spent for those purposes," SD announced.

The second project, as they state, refers to support in solving the housing needs of pensioners in the Capital City, who "lack half a million euros in order to complete the financial construction for the construction of the fourth building for pensioners". "In this way, the housing issue for 42 pensioner families will be solved. Until now, through the cooperation of the Association of Pensioners, the Capital City and the Government, three buildings have been completed, thanks to which 288 pensioner families got a roof over their heads", added SD.

In that party, they expect the support of a sufficient majority of MPs for the aforementioned amendments, because, as they said, they do not require additional funds in the budget, but rather that part of the funds for official trips and work contracts be redirected to the implementation of the project of awarding free snacks and free transportation to children from of socially vulnerable families, financial support for grant schemes for employment of disabled persons and support for solving the housing needs of pensioners.
