CIVIS: Support for the budget proposal, if the final version is based on realistic parameters

Citizens' Union CIVIS will support the budget proposal for 2022, appreciating the fact that improving citizens' standards should be the main goal of every government, if its final variant is based on realistic economic parameters.

The party said that they condemn the abuses of the daily discussions on the budget, during which, as they said, certain parties put populist and unrealistic demands in the public "in order to slander politicians and confuse citizens."

"We believe that the budget cannot be a list of unrealistic demands of certain political parties, which try to make senseless any common-sense discussion about state revenues and expenditures," said CIVIS.

They said that since August 30 of last year they have been advocating for the formation of efficient bodies of all branches of government, and that to this end they have repeatedly warned parts of the ruling majority to "bury the hatchet" for the benefit of the whole society.

"Once again, we remind you that the vote on the last budget was blocked in parliament for an unacceptably long time and that numerous other important decisions are still being obstructed, such as the election of the Prosecutor's Council, which essentially means neglecting the public interest.

"If the obstruction continues, the ruling majority will betray the public interest and the will of the citizens who expect that, after the disastrous and multi-decade arrogant rule of the DPS and its satellites, Montenegro will finally become a country of the rule of law and social justice," the announcement concludes.
