Proactive participation and synergistic action of all members of the Council for Competitiveness makes this platform a place that generates very good ideas, healthy and open dialogue and important proposals, announced the Minister of Economic Development, Jakov Milatović.
He, presiding over the Council session, said that these ideas and proposals are further transposed into norms and directives of great importance for improving the competitiveness of our economy and the well-being of citizens.
The Ministry of Economic Development said that today's session was particularly important due to the further development and improvement of the business environment, as it concerned amendments to the Labor Law and the Law on Business Companies.
"The need for changes to these two laws is systemically important. Changes and additions to important laws in the field of the labor market will occur in the third and fourth quarters of the current year, and a lot of work is being done on that," said Milatović.
He said that everyone is looking forward to the introduction of the norm of a permanent seasonal worker in our legal system.
"The seasonal nature of the labor market is recognizable in Montenegro, and already in the next year, the introduction of this norm will lead to the improvement of an adequate workforce, which is of particular importance for our tourism sector," said Milatović.
He stated that he is very glad that, in correlation with the representatives of all social actors, I can also announce a special law on the Central Register of Business Entities (CRPS) and the registration of business entities.
Milatović said that it is necessary to stick to proven and good solutions of countries from the region that have regulated the area of business companies with several laws, and it is clear that there is a need to separate the legal regulations on CRPS and register them as a separate law, and to amend and supplement the Law generalize directives and legal norms adapted to the EU on companies.
In addition, the programs of the Ministry of Economic Development to support the economy were presented in detail at the session, i.e. the Program for Improving Competitiveness, the Program for the Development of the Manufacturing Industry and the Program for the Development and Promotion of Crafts, the total amount of which is EUR 5,2 million.
The Ministry will announce a public call for applications for funds from these programs during the next week. Additionally, activities on the creation of the Credit Guarantee Fund, as an independent institution that will provide the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) sector and entrepreneurs with easier and increased access to financing, were also presented.
"Also, the Innovation Fund was presented, as a new institution that implements the Government's innovation policy, and aims to influence the competitiveness of our economy through the development of the innovation ecosystem", was assessed at today's session.
As announced, the topic of the next session of the Competitiveness Council is the fight against the gray economy.
