Elektroprivreda (EPCG) and Investment Development Fund (IRF) signed a contract worth 30 million euros for the financing of the Solari 3000+ and Solari 500+ projects.
The contract was signed on behalf of IRF by the president of the board of directors of IRF Velizar Kaluđerović, executive director Irena Radović and director of the credit sector Nikola Milosavljević, and on behalf of EPCG the president of the board of directors, Milutin Đukanović, executive director Nikola Rovčanin and chief financial officer Miro Vračar .
Đukanović said that the signing of the contract for the financing of the Solari 3000 and 500+ project with IRF is very important for their company.
"I remind you that hundreds of new jobs will be created as part of the project, while thousands of our consumers will have lower bills for consumed electricity," said Đukanović when signing the contract.
He once again invited the citizens of Montenegro to apply for the Solari project, because they believe that in the green transition, the winner will be the one who will be able to produce electricity.
"I congratulate the management of EPCG, because a great and good job has been done", added Đukanović.
EPCG stated that the process of selecting a financial institution was transparent, eight interested institutions applied for the international public call for financial resources to finance the Solari 3000+ and Solari 500+ project, which Elektroprivreda announced on August 2.
Radović said that IRF, as a state institution, recognized the great importance of that project.
"It is extremely important that we monitor the effects of the Solari project, which will contribute to strengthening the standards of the citizens of our country, and also contribute to new employment. That is why the IRF supported the Solari project with the lowest interest rate in the history of this institution," said Radović.
She explained that in this way, in addition to supporting EPCG as a state-owned company, they also provided clear support to numerous small and medium-sized enterprises that will achieve significant benefits through participation in the Solari project.
"I hope that in the coming period there will be many new projects where the IRF will be happy to participate as a partner," said Radović.
Rovčanin said that it is a historic moment not only for EPCG, but also for the entire society.
He said that he is satisfied that IRF is the partner in the project, with the hope that in the future they will jointly develop numerous other green energy projects.
"In the past year, we managed to ensure energy stability, and I hope that with the development of such projects, related to the production of solar energy, we will also succeed in becoming a regional giant when it comes to companies engaged in the production and delivery of electricity. I thank IRF and hope that this is the beginning of our successful cooperation. I once again invite the citizens of Montenegro to get involved in this project, because it is a project of the future," said Rovčanin.
Vračar assessed that it is a day of historic importance for the energy sector as well as for all citizens of Montenegro, because the Solari project represents an investment that contributes to the improvement of standards in the country. "That's why I invite consumers to get involved and become producer-consumers", added Vračar.
