The Board of Directors of the Montenegrin Chamber of Commerce calls on the authorities to find alternative markets for supplying Montenegro with oil and flour as soon as possible, without waiting for Serbia's decision to unblock exports to the countries of the region, it was announced after today's session of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro.
They also appeal that the work of state institutions be unblocked as soon as possible in order, as stated, to protect the interests of the Montenegrin economy in challenging times.
They also stated that due to the increase in the prices of fuel and materials, businessmen who previously concluded deals with the state in the framework of public procurement are in an unenviable position and on the verge of bankruptcy.
"Taking into account the increase in the cost of materials, which has been especially pronounced since the beginning of the crisis in Ukraine, the Chamber initiates the creation of mechanisms to harmonize the prices shown in tenders with changes in the market. Businessmen point out that the prices of fuel and bitumen have increased by 70 percent in the last two months, and fittings by more than 130 percent. The Management Board requests that the possibility of adopting a solution to this situation be looked at following the example of the countries of the region, specifically Croatia, which, recognizing the problem, adopted the Decree on the criteria for harmonizing prices with changes in the market. It is currently in Montenegro In Gori, according to the Law on Public Procurement, that mechanism is excluded and prices are fixed," PKCG stated.
The board of directors determined the proposals for the financial and report on the work of this association for 2021, and the regulations on the Chamber's awards and office and archival operations were adopted. Decisions were made on the selection of members of the PKCG Awards Committee, as well as members of the committee of the association of freight forwarders, banking, other financial organizations and insurance.
"Economists assess that Montenegro needs a strong Chamber of Commerce that will respond to the needs of the economy even more readily, organized and quickly, especially in conditions of crisis and a damaged business environment. They believe that the Chamber should work at full capacity to attract new investments and contribute to the creation a more predictable environment for their implementation," the announcement stated.
The board of directors made a decision to send financial aid to the Chamber of Commerce of Ukraine in the amount of 10.000 euros.
