It is evident that the increase in average earnings is not nearly enough to cover the rise in prices, said Aleksandar Bogdanović, Secretary General of the Democratic Party of Socialists.
"According to official Monstat data, they were 6,7 percent higher in February compared to the same month last year, and in March compared to the same month last year, they were on average 9,7 percent higher," added Bogdanović.
As he pointed out, this "indicates that due to the wrong economic policy of the Government of Montenegro", inflation in Montenegro reaches a "staggering level of even 10 percent" and thus the citizens are put to a serious test of how to survive.
"We point out that the biggest impact on the monthly inflation rate is the increase in prices in the following groups: bread and cereals; fuel and lubricants for motor vehicles; milk, cheese and eggs; meat; solid fuels; clothing; oils and fats; passenger transport by road, and with all of the above, there is no end in sight to the further rise in prices. In addition to all that, we are also faced with the fact that due to the unknown policy of the outgoing government and the blockade of the parliament, measures cannot be taken to protect the standard of living, following the example of countries in the region and the EU," added Bogdanović.
Finally, he pointed out...
"As long as the party's interest is placed above the needs and lives of our citizens, Montenegro is not written well. We are all suffering serious consequences, the recovery of which will take time, and certainly much more than the one for which the current government crushed everything it touched ", he concluded.
