Tax debtors who wish to reschedule their debts to the state by June XNUMX can submit applications to the Revenue and Customs Administration (UPC).

Obligations that were due for payment until yesterday (April 20), when the Ministry of Finance and Social Welfare issued a public invitation, can be included in the reprogram. Debt due after April 20 is considered current liabilities that must be paid regularly while the reprogram lasts.

Obligees who enter the reprogram will have to pay 10 percent of the debt once, and the rest can be approved in a maximum of 60 monthly installments, and the late interest on the debt will be written off. Companies and citizens have the right to reprogram.

In the invitation of the Ministry of Finance, it was stated that the minimum amount of the monthly installment is 50 euros for a citizen who does not perform economic activity, 70 euros for an entrepreneur who pays obligations in a lump sum and 100 euros for an entrepreneur who pays obligations according to real income. The minimum installment for companies depends on the number of employees - 100 euros for up to five employees, 500 euros for six out of 50 employees and 1.000 euros for more than 500 employees.

All tax and non-tax claims based on profit tax, personal income, VAT, real estate sales tax, contributions for mandatory pension, disability and health insurance, unemployment insurance, contributions to the Labor Fund, concession fees... can be reprogrammed.

Tax debtors against whom bankruptcy proceedings have been opened do not have the right to reprogram, unless the bankruptcy is carried out through reorganization.

UPC decides on the request for reprogramming with a decision within 60 days from the deadline for submitting the request.

In the event that the debtor does not make a one-time payment of 10 percent of the total debt within 30 days from the date of the decision or if he does not pay regular installments, the UPC will cancel the decision on rescheduling and he will have to pay full late interest.

The law on tax debt reprogramming is part of a package of accompanying laws within the "Europe Now" project, and was adopted by the parliament at the end of last year, with the aim of stimulating tax debtors to pay their tax obligations.

The Ministry of Finance has estimated that by applying this law, the largest number of taxpayers will accept the terms of this law and reprogram their debt, so that the minimum financial benefit for the budget will be 15 million euros per year, and 75 million euros in five years.
