The decrease in revenues by municipalities in February and March of the current year, in the amount of 3,15 million euros, indicates the unsustainability of local public finances, especially in less developed municipalities, which is a direct consequence of the implementation of the "Europe Now" program, said Bogdan Fatić, MP Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) in the Parliament of Montenegro.
He adds that this is indicated by the analysis carried out by the Union of Municipalities and "which shows that municipal revenues based on personal income tax, personal income tax surcharge and the Equalization Fund have significantly decreased since the beginning of the application of the 'Europe Now' program".
"This actually proves the negative impact of this populist-political pamphlet by Milojko Spajić - Jakov Milatović (ministers of finance and social welfare and economic development) on the revenues of the municipalities, and especially the fear of the tendency that this decline will be even more pronounced in the coming period. When all of the above is added to the enormously high inflation in our country, as a result of which there was a decrease in the purchasing power of citizens, it is clear that the "Europe Now" program was launched in order for Spajić and Milatović to open up to themselves the path to high politics, regardless of the consequences for the standard of living of our population," Fatić said.
The outgoing government, says Fatić, showed an extreme lack of feeling for the citizens of Montenegro.
"Also, she showed that she does not care about the real and objective needs of local self-governments, thereby endangering the survival and further development of municipalities and their citizens, especially in the north of Montenegro," concluded Fatić.
