Orlandić elected to the board of Barska plovidba, ship lease contracts cancelled

The shareholders' assembly of Barska plovidba today elected Radovan Orlandić (DPS) as a member of the board of directors, even though there are three criminal charges against him due to his previous work in that company.

He was elected as one of the four representatives of the state capital, and at the suggestion of the Minister of Capital Investments, Ervin Ibrahimović. Last year, the same ministry submitted a report to the Special State Prosecutor's Office about a possible criminal offense in connection with the purchase of two ships on credit for the needs of "Barska plovidba", which significantly damaged the company. The disputed decision on the purchase of ships was made in 2012 at an electronic meeting of the board of directors at the suggestion of Orlandić without a report on the matter. However, according to the Law on Business Companies, such a decision is only within the competence of the Assembly of Shareholders.

The other two reports against Orlandić relate to the ship lease agreement where he significantly lowered the prices for the lessee despite the decision of the Board of Directors, as well as due to the disputed procurement of oil and lubricants for ships where the company suffered millions of damages.

According to "Vijesti" information, the representative of the State Employment Office, which has 4,2 percent of the votes, did not come to the Assembly, but even without him, the majority, a narrow majority, adopted the decisions.

The other three candidates for the state are Vladimir Božović, Sehera Kalender and Selvedin Tahirović. Aleksandar Jovović was elected as the representative of minority capital in the board of directors.

The Assembly did not approve the lease contracts for the ships "Bar" and "Budva", which the executive director signed in December last year and January this year with the company "Dampskibsselskabet Norden".

The small shareholders announced at the Assembly that they expect that the prosecution will finally deal with cheating and breaking the law in Barska plovidba and that they will take all the cases related to this company out of the dusty drawers.

At the first constitutive session of the new Board of Directors, Vladimir Božović, a member of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), was elected as its president.
