The workers of Nikšić Željezara threaten to jump from the roof, Abazović will talk to them

The Prime Minister of Montenegro, Dritan Abazović, will talk late tonight in Nikšić with the workers of Željezara in the vicinity of the factory where the workers are protesting.

Abazović is currently on his way from Rožaj, where he spoke tonight at the Days of the Diaspora - Emigrants 2022 event.

The workers of the Nikšić Željezara, who have been living in the factory for almost two months, climbed onto the roof today and are threatening to jump because their situation is not resolved.

The workers shout "fraud", "thieves" and bang on the roof.

The representative of the workers, Ivan Vujović, said earlier this evening that the workers demand that Abazović immediately come to Željezara.

"The workers demand that Abazović immediately come to Željezara and tell us whether this factory is needed by Nikšić and the state or not, and not that they literally play games with us for two months and tell us today that the state cannot "just like that" enter the factory ", pointed out Vujović.

He added that after the meeting with the Minister of Economic Development and Tourism, Goran Đurović, they found themselves in a very awkward situation.

"After the meeting with Đurović, we from the trade union found ourselves in a very awkward situation. The workers attacked us that it was our fault, that we trusted the prime minister and the ministers too much. They simply could not wait any longer. From September 1, we will all be fired, and Tosčelik offers us severance pay of 6.000 euros each. We will not allow that, Vujović said.

Businessman Miodrag Daka Davidović wants to buy a hardware store from the Turkish company Toscelik and is already negotiating with them.

The Turkish partner is asking for 20 million euros, and Davidović agreed to pay 15 million, while the state would participate with the remaining five million.

"However, that has now been stopped until the opinion of the European Commission is received," Vujović said.

The workers said that if Abazovic does not come to talk to them tonight, they will spend the night on the roof.

Vujović said that as soon as they got on the roof, they were immediately contacted by Minister Đurović.

"He was always there when we called him. He told us that this is not a solution and that he hopes that a solution will be found and that he will try to set up a meeting with everyone who was involved in all of this. And he is ready to let us receive immediately tomorrow," Vujović said.
