The Administration of Revenue and Customs (UPC) announced that gross revenue collection in the amount of around 176 million euros was achieved in July.

As announced by the UPC, this is 9 million euros or 5,5 percent more compared to the same period last year.

"According to the structure of collected revenues, the collection of value added tax dominates, which was realized in the amount of 89.193.591,19 euros, which is 15 million euros or 21,1 percent more than in July last year. Gross revenues from excise taxes in July 2022 . amounted to 23.474.881,20 euros, which is 13 percent less than in July of last year. Bearing in mind the decision to reduce the excise tax on the sale of unleaded gasoline and gas oils by 50 percent, the collection of excise taxes on mineral oils and their derivatives amounted to EUR 9.373510.95 and is 43 percent lower than in July of the previous year," stated the UPC announcement.

They add that a significant increase was recorded in the collection of excise duty on tobacco products in July, when around 10 million euros were collected, which is 47 percent more than in the same period last year.

"The collection of contributions for the mentioned period amounts to 37.839.005,42 euros, which is 1 percent more than the collection last year, despite the change in tax regulations that have been in force since the beginning of the year. Collection of real estate sales amounted to 1.862.907,46 euros. is 36 percent more than last year".

The UPC announcement also states that from May 28 to July 31, tax inspectors in coastal municipalities performed 2.611 regularity checks of taxpayers' operations and found irregularities in 313 taxpayers.
