The Post of Montenegro is demanding that insurance companies pay them 573.000 euros on the basis of two robberies of their branches that happened last year.
That amount of money is missing from the report on the financial plan that the Government adopted at the last session.
On October 20 last year, an armed robbery took place in front of the post office in Nikšić, when a security guard was killed. Ljubisa Mrdak.
According to unofficial information, around 400.000 euros were stolen at that time.
On March 18, 2021, 300 euros disappeared from the cash register of the Post office in Zlatica.
In the report, it is stated that the Post of Montenegro signed the Agreement on the provision of services and the procurement of money transport protection with associated policies in the amount of 10.962 euros, i.e. insurance policies in the amount of one million euros.
"And bearing in mind the fact that the Directorate for Supervision in the Area of Protection of Persons and Assets of the Detective Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs initiated a procedure in which irregularities were found in the operations of the company Security Guard Montenegro, we reasonably expect that the amount of missing funds of 573.307 euros will be collected from of the specified insurance policies".
In addition to this, the company is demanding EUR 2,49 million from customers, of which EUR 465.000 is being sought from Elektroprivreda.
The financial report shows that the Post made a profit in the amount of 609.000 last year.
This is almost 200.000 more results than the plan, but the gain is also 27 percent lower compared to 2020.
Total revenues amounted to 16,7 million euros, which is at the level of the plan and 3,8 percent or 600.000 more than in 2020.
The Post Office earned over 15 million in revenue from the sale of services, that is, from letter and parcel shipments, while 5,6 million in revenue was generated from money business services. Revenues from the sale of philately and postage stamps were 192.000, a fifth higher than the year before, but even 40 percent less than planned.
When it comes to expenditures, they were 16,09 million, which is five percent more than in 2020.
Business expenses were 4,93 million, while the company allocated 10,88 million to gross employee expenses, which is 500.000 more than in 2020.
The total number of employees at the Post Office at the end of last year was 1.019, which is 22 more employees than the year before. Of that number, 911 workers were employed for an indefinite period of time, while the rest worked for a certain agency through an employment agency.
The report states that last year 127.706 euros were given for severance pay.
The company had 8,06 million euros in its accounts at the end of last year, which is 562.000 less than the year before.
The capital of the company amounts to 35,331 million, and the complete shareholder of Pošta is the Government. The retained earnings of the company increased from 2,692 million to 3,302 million. The profit of 842.000 euros from 2020 was forwarded to the Ministry of Finance and Social Welfare.
The report shows that the company is not exposed to credit and market risks.
Last year, the Post allocated 646.000 for investments, and they mainly refer to the purchase of computer equipment and machines for envelopes of hybrid mail.
The independent auditor gave a reserved opinion on the financial report, among other things, because they pointed out that it is necessary to evaluate the real estate and property, considering that the last one was done in 2010.
