The Montenegrin IT community at the disposal of the Ministry of Public Administration

The Montenegrin IT community is ready to make available its resources, knowledge and experience in a short period of time in order to contribute to the elimination of problems caused by cyber attacks on public administration information systems, the Chamber of Commerce announced after a meeting of IT experts from Montenegro with representatives of the Ministry of Public Administration .

"The topicality of the situation imposes the importance of an effective reaction. It is necessary to react as soon as possible, already today," said the vice president of the Chamber of Commerce, Nikola Vujović.

The representative of the Ministry of Public Administration, Dušan Polović, thanked the Chamber of Commerce on behalf of the Government for the quick reaction and meeting their requests for support from the business community.

"We are not talking about sporadic and individual attacks, but well-organized and aimed at paralyzing the system. This is the moment when the most operative response is needed," he said.

Polović clarified that they need IT personnel who will join the operational teams and sub-teams that will work on the recovery of the IT infrastructure, as well as contribute to the establishment of application solutions.

Representatives of IT companies indicated that they can help by providing their knowledge and capacities, with clearly defined instructions from the Ministry of Public Administration.

"This is a moment of patriotic contribution that the IT community can provide with the resources it has," they pointed out.

According to them, the vendors they cooperate with are also ready to provide their capacities and expertise.

Already after the meeting, communication between businessmen and the Ministry of Public Administration was established with the aim of strengthening operational teams and sub-teams that work to eliminate problems caused by cyber attacks.

The adviser to the president of the Chamber of Commerce, Dragoljub Bulatović, director of the association's sector Slavica Pavlović, and Vesna Simonović, head of the Department for Portals and Services from the Ministry of Public Administration, took part in the meeting, and the same was moderated by the vice president of the Chamber of Commerce, Nikola Vujović.

In addition to numerous businessmen, Dušan Polović, acting director general of the Directorate for Infrastructure, Information Security, Digitization and e-Services in the Ministry of Public Administration, head of the Operational Team that formed the Council for Information Security, participated in the work.
