In front of the building of the Parliament of Montenegro, a protest was held by some educational and health workers who are against the budget rebalancing.

The rebalancing of the budget, as they claim, foresees the cancellation of money intended for the reconstruction and construction of schools and hospitals.

The beginning of the session of the Assembly where this topic will be discussed was scheduled for 11:XNUMX am.

Professor Milica Kankaraš said that by rebalancing the budget, the MPs are asking for the "small money they have" to be taken from schools and hospitals.

She called on the deputies to work in the interest of the citizens of Montenegro.

Kankaraš also claims that some health workers were not allowed to protest because of threats that they would be fired.

"You must not touch the students and the sick," said Kankaraš.

Olivera Leković from the Education Association said that she was revolted by this kind of behavior when it comes to children, schools and healthcare.

"Our society has become political, only politicians and their games before the elections are important," said Leković.

She also said that she was angered by the statement of the Minister of Finance, Aleksandar Damjanović, that if the rebalancing is not accepted, there will be no money for mothers and persons with disabilities.

"We are heading towards the same thing, we are a country that has four and a half thousand vehicles in the fleet. We all witnessed how the MPs unanimously raised their hands in January and voted for themselves and public officials to increase their salaries," said Leković.

She added that funds were allocated for hospitals and schools many times, but neither of them were built.

"We remember the money from 2015 for schools and kindergartens, little has been built. A certain amount of money is received, but it does not end up where it was intended," said Leković.
