There is no media campaign against the Association of Pensioners of Podgorica, as stated by their president, Ilija Stanišić, in the response "Stanišić: There is a campaign against the Association of Pensioners", but the prosecution is investigating their work due to numerous irregularities found by the PIO Fund commission.
Responsible media only follow the investigation and what the commission found.
Instead of at least trying to prove that what the commission found is not true, the association repeats that it was formed illegally, that its goals, as well as its actions, are illegal.
However, they forget one important fact, the president of the Union of Associations of Pensioners Branko Vešović, a member of both the former and current board of directors of the PIO Fund, voted for the formation of this commission. He also voted for its composition, work objectives and method of operation, which means that he considered that it was not illegal and that it was necessary. He should have informed his vice-president Stanišić about this.
After the publication of a report in which the illegal spending of huge sums of money intended for social assistance to the most vulnerable pensioners and for the construction of apartments for retired pensioners was found to be illegal, they began to interpret its establishment as illegal.
Regarding the reaction to his text, "Vuković promised money to the Pensioners' Association at the party meeting, where numerous irregularities in his work were discovered", "Vijesti" reported only what happened.
The DPS coalition in Podgorica announced that on the occasion of October 1, the International Day of the Elderly, the candidates for councilors of that movement, led by Vuković, organized a meeting with the elderly citizens of Podgorica.
Therefore, that party organized the gathering, unless Stanišić does not trust the party of which he is an official. In the photos, which the coalition sent to the media, Vuković can be seen handing out leaflets to pensioners, as well as pensioners with the coalition's propaganda material.
When "Vijesti" asked who organized and paid for the lunch for this gathering, the mayor's office answered "that the capital city and the mayor are not the organizers of the mentioned gathering, and we are not the competent address for your questions." According to the above, we inform you that the costs of the meeting were not borne by the capital city".
Therefore, the DPS and the Association of Pensioners should agree on who paid the expenses for the elected pensioners and their association with the bearer of only one of the eight lists participating in the elections.
