Not only did the previous government of Milo Đukanović not take into account the financial risks when contracting the first section of the highway, but it clearly neglected key elements such as the interchange, Vladimir Martinović, vice president of Democratic Montenegro, announced today.
"Perhaps they thought that it would be a unique example of a highway in the world that would not have a loop. It sounds incredible, but true. However, when we know who was the minister during the contracting of the first section, the citizens were lucky if it was only a "forgotten loop" ". The former Minister of Transport Brajović did not have the guts to oppose himself during the scandalous "Limenka" affair, when he enabled the brother of Milo Đukanović to take 10 million euros, this time, probably for who knows whose, but not the state's, interests, he didn't have the guts to contract a loop that costs a minimum of 30 million euros. Exactly, compared to Ac's 10 million for Limenka, these 30 million for the loop probably do not seem so terrible to Brajović. Ivan Brajović is obliged to the citizens of Montenegro, as the former Minister of Transport and as the current president of the truncated Parliament, lay down the accounts and explain how and in what way one of the most important parts of the mentioned project was forgotten. Brajović, the Democrats expect you to inform the citizens of Montenegro about such a cardinal omission as soon as possible and that you bear responsibility for your actions and inactions. Don't think that you will get away with every extortion from citizens like in the cases of "Limenka" and "Ramada", Martinović pointed out.
He added that Democratic Montenegro has never been, nor will it be, against development projects related to the development of Montenegro, especially the north.
"Therefore, we are not against the construction of the highway either. What we are and will always stand for is that taxpayers' money is spent with surgical precision, and not wastefully and wastefully. To this day, we have very suspicious and non-transparent spending of funds for the construction of this project , we don't have a clear insight into how and what the money is spent on, what is the amount and price of the material used. If the spending of all citizens' money is hidden, it means that those who spend it do not have an elementary motive to be careful in that spending," said Martinović.
According to him, the previous Government did not properly consider many technical and financial details when contracting the first section, so the Democrats are wondering what unpleasant surprises we will have by the end of the first section.
"The fact is that we are paying for the most expensive kilometer of highway in Europe. An irresponsible and frivolous approach to every project, including this project, is characteristic of the DPS rule for 27 years. The most important thing for them is to take on debt, and how and under what conditions - the concern of impoverished citizens is obvious , who pay dearly for every mistake. We in Democratic Montenegro are not surprised that things like this started to surface, if we know that everything was done on the basis of an idea, not the main project, so this is a completely expected epilogue. It is also clear to the Government of Montenegro It's worse that they made a cardinal mistake as soon as they say that this dispute can be resolved by arbitration, and we are afraid that it will not be the only one. In addition to the already high public debt, these 30 million will be adding fuel to the fire and an additional blow to the budget and the standard of living of citizens ", concluded Martinović.
