The millionth passage on the highway is expected

As of November 30, 990.658 vehicles had passed on the Podgorica-Mateševo ​​highway section, and the millionth pass is expected tonight or tomorrow in Monteput.

The section was opened on July 13 this year, and traffic began the following day. However, the number of passes is counted from July 21, when toll collection began. This means that the millionth pass was achieved four and a half months or 135 days after the start of billing.

The highest number of passing vehicles was recorded on August 7, when 14.325 vehicles passed through this section, and the lowest on November 30, 3.974. Now, on Fridays and weekend days, an average of about five thousand vehicles pass by, while on other days that average is about four thousand.

The state-owned company Monteput, which manages this section, earned about three million euros from toll collection for these four and a half months. The price of the toll includes the value added tax of 21 percent, so in the example of the toll price for cars of 3,5 euros, Monteput gets 2,9 euros.

The semi-annual installments for repaying the loan, which was used to build the highway, and which are paid to the Chinese Exim Bank in January and July, amount to 30 million euros each.
