At the 34th General Assembly held yesterday in Cairo, the Association of the Mediterranean Energy Regulators for Electricity and Gas (MEDREG) elected a new presidency, which includes the president of the Regulatory Agency for Energy and Regulated Utilities (REGAGEN), Branislav Prelević, it was announced from the Montenegrin regulator.
On that occasion, as stated in the REGAGEN announcement, he emphasized that in these challenging times, MEDREG will especially focus on strengthening mutual cooperation, information exchange, strengthening interconnecting capacities and creating a stronger foundation for consumer protection.
The presidency is composed of the president, two vice-presidents who are elected for a term of two years and one permanent vice-president from the board of the Italian regulator.
The Montenegrin regulator has been a member of MEDREG since 2005, actively participates in the work of working groups and hosted two General Assemblies held in Podgorica and Kotor.
