Elektroprivreda (EPCG) extended the application deadline for the Solari 5000+ project until March 10, due to public interest.

Interested citizens and businesses, as well as owners of residential buildings in buildings with up to four floors, can apply through the online application found on the website www.solari.epcg.com.

The Solari 5000+ (70 MW) project, for which a public call was announced at the end of December, is intended for both households and businesses, as well as owners of apartments in smaller residential buildings, up to four floors.

As stated on the company's website, the implementation of this project is intended to install photovoltaic systems with a total power of 70 megawatts (MW).

The value of the project is 70 million euros, and EPCG will provide a subsidy of 20 percent for all consumers who meet the conditions prescribed by the public invitation and qualify for the installation of a photovoltaic system.

"The possibility of independent production of electricity for one's own needs is the best guarantee of safe and reliable supply. By installing photovoltaic systems, households and companies, in addition to the role of consumer and buyer, also acquire the role of producer and seller," EPCG explained.

The use of opportunities offered by renewable energy sources has also led to the adoption of the new term PROSUMER/producer-customer, which denotes the end customer of electricity who has the right to build a production facility and produce electricity for his own needs, and to sell the surplus, i.e. deliver it to distribution system.

EPCG, according to its representatives, from the beginning of the project did everything to simplify the process of application and installation of the system, and even initiated the amendment of the Law on Spatial Planning and Construction of Buildings, which made it possible to speed up the dynamics, and consumers to easily and quickly install the equipment .

"Also, the company EPCG Solar Gradnja has employed and trained teams that are at the service of consumers to efficiently, simply and quickly reach the stage of producing electricity themselves," EPCG added.

The company reminded that Montenegro is a country with a large number of sunny days and is very suitable for the development of solar systems for the production of electricity.

This is best evidenced by the fact that the intensity of solar radiation in our country is among the highest in Europe.
