Grgić resigned

Director of the Investment Agency of Montenegro (MIA) Mladen Grgić he resigned from that position, it was confirmed to "Vijesta" unofficially from several sources.

The resignation should be verified by the Council of the Agency next week. The Director of the Agency is appointed by the Council, based on a public competition, for a period of five years.

Grgić is in October 2021, in the mandate of the Government of which he was the prime minister Zdravko Krivokapic, was appointed first as acting director, and then in May of the following year he was appointed for a full term of five years.

Until the arrival of Grgić, he covered that position Dejan Medojevic who was appointed by the former government led by DPS.

The agency was founded to realize public-private partnership, innovation and promotion of the investment potential of Montenegro as an investment destination.

Last month, the Agency received a double negative opinion from the State Audit Institution (DRI) on business in 2021, which will be sent to the Special State Prosecutor's Office (SDT) in accordance with the protocol that the Supreme Audit Office has with the SDT.

The financial audit determined that the Agency did not, in all materially significant aspects, compile and present the financial report in a fair and objective manner in accordance with the valid financial reporting framework.

The audit of regularity found inconsistencies in the Agency's operations with laws on professional rehabilitation and employment of persons with disabilities, pension and disability insurance, management and internal controls in the public sector, state property, as well as a number of decrees and regulations.
