JP Morsko has successfully announced a public procurement for the insurance of shippers' liability

The public company for the management of maritime assets has announced a public procurement for the insurance of the responsibility of the shipowners ("Vasilije" and "August 30") for damages to motor vehicles that are the subject of ferry transportation.

It is a matter of simple procurement with an estimated value of 9.000 euros, for which bids will be opened tomorrow, and the deadline for the execution of the contract is one year from the date of signing the contract.

"It is necessary to compensate for the damages caused to the vehicles transported by ferry in the following cases - omissions and errors of the ferry staff in connection with the vehicles being transported, in case of omissions in the organization of the order and manner of entry, accommodation and exit of vehicles from the ferry, during navigation if due to due to storms and waves, vehicles move and come in contact with each other, or vehicle contact with the ferry's protective fence, vehicle movement and damage due to the ferry hitting the shore, a sudden turn of the ferry in navigation to avoid a collision at sea, or for any other reasons stemming from behavior of the ferry itself in navigation and nautical, i.e. navigational activities of the captain and his crew", it is stated, among other things, in the characteristics of the public procurement.

Executive Director of Morski Dobr Mladen Mikijelj he recently told "Vijesta" that the vessels are insured, and therefore the passengers, while the insurance of the vehicle is in the process and will be provided until the moment when they start collecting tickets.

The state company has taken over the management of the only ferry line in the state, Kamenare-Lepetani, and currently has two ferries in its fleet, and three more ferries should be acquired soon in order for traffic on this line to run smoothly.

On April 10, at a telephone session, the government adopted the Maritime Property Information regarding the procedure for the procurement of the remaining necessary ferries and tasked the state-owned company with conducting an urgent public procurement procedure for the purchase of three ferries.
