The government will transfer part of the money received from the economic citizenship program, one million euros each, to special accounts of municipalities in the north of the country, which was decided at today's session.
Minister of Economic Development Goran Đurović said that the municipalities in question are: Kolašin, Mojkovac, Šavnik, Bijelo Polje, Andrijevica, Rožaje, Berane, Gusinje, Plav, Petnjica, Plužine, Žabljak and Pljevlja.
He explained that the Directorate for Capital Projects will sign special contracts with these municipalities on the dedicated spending of allocated money for projects that are not covered by money from the European Union's pre-accession funds.
"After signing the contract, the municipality will be obliged to open special dedicated accounts. The mentioned funds will be used by the municipality for the preparation and revision of technical documentation, the preparation of studies, the announcement of tenders, the initiation of expropriation procedures, as well as the execution of works and the execution of development projects." , explained Đurović.
He emphasized that it is necessary to take care that the projects that will be the subject of the contract are not financed from the money of the European Union.
The economic citizenship program ended at the end of last year.
Prime Minister Dritan Abazović said that the projects refer only to infrastructure and invited the presidents of the municipality to propose projects.
"The municipality of Mojkovac has already submitted the idea of a new town square, as have the municipalities of Šavnik and Petnjica," said Abazović.
