Montenegrin farmers received 111 valuable awards at the International Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad, which began on Saturday and lasts until Friday, announced the Chamber of Commerce (PKCG).
PKCG said that producers of meat and meat products, cheese, grain products, linseed oil, wine and alcoholic beverages, juices, teas, honey and honey products, water, acorn coffee, as well as apple cider vinegar received awards.
"Montenegrin farmers won the big championship and four cups of the Novi Sad Fair, 32 big gold medals, 34 gold, 29 silver and two bronze, one award for quality champion, several plaques and diplomas," specified PKCG.
Among the awardees are, as announced, the Faculty of Biotechnology, Green Monde, the National Association of Winemakers and Vinegrowers, Ljiljana Božović, Vakom, Ratko Aleksić, Zorica Knežević, Ljubomir Vukmirović, Distillery "Mirotić", House of Tea, MM Ribarstvo, Per Aqua, agricultural farms "Macanović" and "Ašanin", E&T Healthy Bee, Mianja, Naš sokić, Kapital, Meso-promet, family farm "Miljanić", cheese makers Cijevna and Katunjanka, Vukojica Vuković, Miodrag Radunović, Ahmed Redžepagić and Rakija Trnovača.
Montenegrin products were presented at a joint stand organized by PKCG, which was visited by the president of that business association, Nina Drakić, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management and officials of several participating countries.
"Montenegro is a country of promising agricultural production, and PKCG supports the efforts of our farmers to achieve success in that economic branch. Over 100 awards from this fair confirm that in the best way," said Drakić.
She added that the development of Montenegro relies on important pillars of healthy food production and its placement within its own tourism economy, but also exports to neighboring countries and beyond.
"That's why the Novi Sad fair has a special significance for our businessmen and producers. We are witnessing this year as well that many of them are winners of awards and recognitions, because it is a tradition from the Novosada fair that is present and inexhaustible, and has its own economic regularity. What further encourages us, in addition to the large number of awards, is that there are more than 20 exhibitors at the PKCG stand, and that this year we surpassed last year's offer and representation," said Drakić.
The largest agricultural fair in the region and one of the most important agrarian fairs in Europe this year gathered more than 1,1 thousand exhibitors from 21 countries, who present an offer on a total of 58 thousand square meters of exhibition space.
It is estimated that the fair will be visited by about 140 thousand people, who, in addition to the products, will be presented with the latest technical and technological achievements in agriculture, the application of science in agriculture and the most modern mechanization.
This year, a double jubilee is being celebrated, because, in addition to nine decades of the agricultural fair, the century of existence of the Novi Sad Fair is also being celebrated.
