In the first five months of this year, the Administration of Revenue and Customs (UPC) achieved a record gross collection of budget revenues in the amount of one billion euros, the agency replied to Mina-business from that institution.
They said that the collection realized from January 1 to May 31 this year was 210 million euros higher, or 26 percent, than in the same period last year.
"Also, the gross collection of tax and customs revenues for five months this year is 20 percent above the plan, i.e. 172 million euros," it was specified from the office of UPC director Vladimir Bulajić.
The UPC added that, according to the revenue structure, there was an increase in collection in all categories, and the most significant was in corporate profit tax, value added tax (VAT), contributions and excise taxes.
On the basis of corporate income tax, 127,5 million euros were collected for five months of this year, which is 55 million or 76 percent more compared to the same period last year, and 29 percent compared to the plan.
The five-month gross collection of VAT amounted to 451,2 million euros, which is 93,6 million euros or 30 percent more compared to the same period last year, while it is 16 percent above the revenue plan.
The collection of contributions for five months this year amounted to 201 million euros, which is 38 million or 23 percent more than the previous year, and 27 percent compared to the plan.
The achieved five-month gross collection based on excise duties amounted to 110 million euros, which is nine million or nine percent higher than the same period last year, and ten percent higher than the plan.
20 million euros were collected on the basis of customs duty, which is six million euros more or 44 percent compared to five months of the previous year and on plan.
In the UPC, they expect even better collection during the summer tourist season, also pointing to increased controls on the business of tax and customs payers.
