The new strategic impulse to the economic rapprochement of Montenegro and Georgia should be valorized through connecting in the sectors of tourism, infrastructure and construction, said the president of the Chamber of Commerce (PKCG), Nina Drakić.
"Friendly relations and cultural closeness between the two countries do not have an adequate expression in terms of economic and trade exchange, which we recognize partly as a consequence of geographical distance," said Drakić, who is on a two-day visit to Georgia with a delegation of businessmen from Montenegro.
Drakić, as reported by the PKCG, said that based on direct talks and expressed interest, the new strategic impulse to the economic rapprochement of Montenegro and Georgia should be valorized through connecting in the sectors of tourism, infrastructure and construction.
Also, the Montenegrin side sees a development opportunity through the role that Montenegro and Georgia play in the future European energy market.
At the business forum, Montenegrin businessmen said that they agree that there is a mutual interest in the joint implementation of construction projects, but also the promotion of the tourist destination of Montenegro, which has a competitive offer for the Georgian market.
"Montenegro and Georgia, in a very complex international context, can achieve their development priorities only by fitting into European economic goals," said Drakić.
During the business forum, PKCG Vice President Nikola Vujović held a notable presentation on the investment and economic potential of Montenegro, which will certainly serve as an initial basis for strengthening economic cooperation and affirming investments in Montenegrin potential.
From the Georgian side, the head of the business association in Georgia, Soso Pkhakadze, and the honorary consul of Montenegro in Georgia, Temur Khurkuli, participated in the forum. The businessmen were also addressed by the Honorary Consul of Georgia in Montenegro, Rade Vujačić.
The delegation with businessmen includes the president of Bar municipality, Dušan Raičević, who will have separate meetings with businessmen and representatives of the city of Tbilisi.
